Mitt Romney: The attack in Libya is proof we need a businessman as president

Quick to respond to President Obama and his supposed response to the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, Mitt Romney told a number of reporters at a press conference that the American public would be better off with someone in charge who knew how to make a deal, no matter the cost.
“What has happened in Libya is a senseless tragedy that may have been avoided if we approached our first dealings with the Libyan people as a business strategy and not the attempt at peaceful diplomacy. All diplomacy does is show the United States as weak sympathizers that apologize instead of go on the offensive attack to get the deal done. We needed to show not only Libya, but the rest of the world that we hold the dominate hand. We need to demand respect, not try to earn it by peaceful means and negotiation. We can’t negotiate with people who don’t see us as the strongest in the world. This is why we need someone with bold ideas who can get the job done with out pussyfooting around. The attack in Libya is proof we need a businessman as president. When I go after a deal, I don’t take no for an answer. I don’t care who I hurt, the deal gets done.”
These comments come on the tail end of Romney’s statement before President Obama even had the chance to speak where he was responding to a statement which was referring to a film that may incite violence and occurred hours before the attack on the consulate took place. However instead of backing off his comments that seemed out-of-place and erroneous, he doubled down with his talk that if we had a businessman as president, the United States as well as the rest of the world would be better off.
When it was brought up by a reporter at the press conference that Gov. Romney has no foreign policy experience besides knowing where he keeps his money, the Republican presidential nominee responded, “You don’t need foreign policy expertise to be president. All you need is just the right amount of gumption and the money to back it up.”
